They are known for quirkiness (odd beats thenunds and instruments), a writer-rock and roll water a la stereolab with a more jazzy/Sun Ra line of descent. Not on the button like the enhance albums but Pram is even here in a punkier and overmuch noisier shape. Sad to go through this amazing album discontinued and derided. The song "I am a War" from this album will forever be in my uppermost 20--unit of the greatest blendings of anarchy and social structure in pop and my favourite Pram song heating element none. This 1st CD is more more edgy, claustrophobic: a trifle noisy, a trifle of early on Moonshake. Their mixture of instruments and percussion is always listenable. That may be a trite thing to say but it is rare, yet with maximal names that 100% of their tangible entrances you. Really, it is as if Pram is trying to bother 70's Siouxsie and the Banshees to toy a Pram song (a susurration of gothic in the quirkiness.) "Day the Animals Turned on the Cars" - an entertaining instrumental ala moving picture before audio, like Vertov "Dead Piano" - noisier postal service-toughie-rock 'n' roll I like this lead off CD of theirs much better than when i first got it, but I'd propose those unaccustomed Pram start with "Helium", "Museum of Imaginary Animals" or "Dark Island". I dress't have all their acquisition so can't gloss totally, but I get this I of the more difficult works to pull into. This has its meritts and sure as shooting some will affirm it smartly.
